Plainfield’s 4th of July Parade and Concert Showcases its Diversity
On Tuesday, July 4th, at 10 AM The City of Plainfield will once again join in celebrating the Independence of the United States of America with an Annual Parade through the streets of its downtown. Prizes will be awarded for innovation and creativity of floats and entries. The Parade will move along East Front Street and culminate at Park Avenue.
The theme of the parade this year is “Plainfield United, Plainfield Strong” and it will showcase the versatility and diversity that makes Plainfield unique. Local songbird Alexis Morrast who recently took first place at Showtime at the Apollo will lead as the Parade Marshall, and it promises to be Plainfield’s biggest and best Parade yet!
"We've worked hard to put together an all-inclusive parade and program," Said Superintendent of the Division of Recreation, Veronica Taylor "We recognize the fantastic blend of cultures we have here, and it's a pleasure seeing how well they complement and work in tandem with each other. The parade and concert present just another opportunity to let our Plainfield unity shine!"
